Pilot Project SECUNDO - Close

The CLOSE project aims to address a key challenge of France’s energy transition: shifting household electricity consumption away from peak demand periods. Since traditional economic approaches have struggled to change these habits, the project draws on an innovative approach: cooperation theory. Adjusting consumption is a collective effort, often hindered by individuals’ tendency to make excuses. To understand and overcome these barriers, the team will combine game theory, energy economics, and field data. This research will enable the design of much more effective incentive mechanisms to support households.
