GOAL
Identify, together with stakeholders in the field (representatives of local authorities, water agencies, ministries, insurers, representatives of the agricultural sector, associations, think tanks, companies, etc.), the key issues, subjects, and areas of study that will be at the heart of the “Drought Hotspot” research project.
RECAP OF PREVIOUS STEPS
- During Workshop 1 (July 3, 2025), researchers first imagined an ideal vision. Based on this, they identified the main obstacles, in other words, what currently prevents this vision from being achieved, and then reformulated them as research questions. The most relevant questions were then selected based on several criteria: their potential impact on the transition, their interest to participants, and their relevance to PSL's expertise.
- During Workshop 2 (September 26, 2025), these priority issues were refined collectively, resulting in three major structural questions that will serve as the guiding thread for the November 7 workshop :
► QUESTION 1
Which study areas show...
(1) serious concerns about drought management
(2) and governance interfaces that enable change ?
(1) serious concerns about drought management
(2) and governance interfaces that enable change ?
► QUESTION 2
How can we better invest in spaces for deliberation where stakeholders develop public policies that are consistent with knowledge and effective for adapting to drought ?
► QUESTION 3
How can we popularize and narrate, through desirable media and imagery, the solutions devised by these bodies in order to facilitate their adoption and inspire the desire and power to act ?
